As I mentioned in my previous post, Harry Anderson was my favorite magician. This was because of his character, a wise guy doing cheap hustles but playing the roll of a fool along the way.
Harry’s presentation always allowed his spectators to be involved with the events taking place on stage. As a spectator in his show at Harrah’s in Atlantic City, I was so involved with what Harry was doing that I couldn’t help but chime in on one occasion. Harry immediately looked to the audience in my direction and announced, “I remember when I too started wearing mens clothing”. The audience erupted into laughter and I had no place to hide. Harry was a master at involving everyone and at the same time keeping total control.
The “Wise Guy” t-shirt is a tribute to Harry.
